Applications are now open for the Tanner Steffler Foundation Youth Voice Bursary.

Listening to and empowering youth voice is a cornerstone of our foundation. Powered by Meridian Credit Union, the Youth Voice Bursary is an annual award of $500, awarded to two youth residing within Huron or Perth county who have shown a dedication to spreading awareness surrounding mental health and addiction in our community.

What is the Youth Voice Bursary?

Who can apply?

Eligible applicants will be:

  • Residing with Huron or Perth County at the time of their application.

  • Be enrolled in secondary school within Huron or Perth County at the time of their application (Enrolment in post-secondary is not a requirement).

  • Must show, through their own advocacy, a passion towards bettering mental health & addiction services, stigma and/or culture in our community.

When are recipients announced?

Recipients will be announced in early May, 2025.

Following the link below, applicants will provide:

  • Contant information.

  • Minimum 500 words on the importance mental health has played in their life, personal experience, and/of why advocating for mental health and addiction education and awareness is important to them.

  • Minimum 200 words on what you have done in your personal, school, work life or other to advocate for change, awareness & more for mental health and addiction services and supports in our community.

  • Any files that help to support their application. These may include pictures, videos, flyers, art and more.
